Karen Hadjitofi

Karen graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 1983 with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design. After working for a short time as a designer in Glasgow, she moved to Aberdeen with her husband and young family. After some years of being at home with the children, Karen ventured back into the art world gradually. Using soft pastels to create images of the local landscapes around Aberdeenshire and taking part in the North East Open Studios. From that springboard she now exhibits in a few of the local galleries. Karen’s current paintings, in oil and acrylic on board and canvas, feature a variety of subjects including still life, landscape and more recently, semi abstract. With a love of the vibrant colour and detail in nature, Karen hopes to engage the viewer to further explore into the shapes and patterns in her work which incorporates a sense of the influence of her design background.
