Chris found his calling in life to be a sporting artist at the age of 17; there was no uncertainty and no alternatives his dream of becoming an artist would be a reality. His passion for the countryside was the very reason he became an artist.
Born in Nigeria to Scottish parents Chris was surrounded by wildlife from an early age. He moved back to Scotland at the age of 12 and very quickly discovered salmon fishing encouraged by his uncle whose farther-in-law was the queens piper at Balmoral. Chris soon had the bug for fly fishing. Chris fell in love with the iconic Scottish landscape and sporting scenes that would form the backbone of his artistic portfolio.
In 1989 Chris became a full time artist and very quickly established himself as one of the finest sporting artists in the UK with clients as prestigious as CEO’S of global companies to peers of the realm. Although Salmon are unquestionably Chris’s forte he is also associated with the dramatic Cairngorm landscapes, with red deer, grouse and golden eagles.
